Cafes

About the Cafes

Have you ever wondered about a particularly interesting science topic? Have you ever wished that you could just talk with an actual scientist about all of the coolest and most interesting ideas in science? Well now you can, by attending a Teen Science Cafe!

Every cafe has a different science, technology, engineering, or mathematics themed topic that is selected by our Youth Leadership Teams. This theme often influences the cafe’s decorations and food, which is provided for free. The topic’s science content is explored through an interactive presentation by a scientist who is an expert in a related subject. Presentations typically include demonstrations and/or hands-on activities, and during the course of the presentation, students are encouraged to ask questions and participate in discussion with the scientist. This means that you actually get to talk to a REAL scientist about REAL and exciting science!A new cafe will be introduced each month, and each cafe will take place once in three different locations (please look below to find location details and visit our home page to find specific dates).

Where and When Do Cafes Take Place?

We have a new cafe lined up for each month. Each cafe theme is hosted at three different locations:

St. Louis Science Center – 4900 Manchester Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110

The Academy of Science – St. Louis: location varies by month

Cahokia High School – 800 Range Ln  Cahokia, IL 62206
